For the first time in over a year and a half, fans tuned into a full-length Nintendo Direct livestream. The gaming giant made the event worth the long wait, bringing nearly three dozen announcements to Wednesday afternoon’s Nintendo Direct presentation.
Highlights included Xenoblade Chronicles 2’s Pyra and Mythra being the next fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate; Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout coming to the Switch this summer; and a return to the links in Mario Golf: Super Rush.
Speaking of returning links, while no new information on the follow-up to 2017’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild were revealed, series head Eiji Aonuma did announce The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will be coming to the Switch on July 17. A Zelda-themed JoyCon set will also be released on the same day.
