Ready to hunt?

Capcom revealed new details for Monster Hunter Rise, the Nintendo Switch-exclusive next installment in the popular franchise, via a 15-minute broadcast on the game’s official YouTube channel on Thursday morning.

The presentation showed off a new area for hunters to explore called the Frost Lands. Once a nest for ancient dragons, this biome is now home to returning Monster Hunter favorites, including the Barioth, Great Baggi, Khezu, Logombi and Tigrex. Also revealed was a new monster, the Goss Harag, which can form a massive blade of ice by breathing onto his hand.

The video also walked players through the game’s hub world and training area and introduced non-playable characters like Hojo the guild master, the trader Rondine and the village elder Fugen.

A free demo for the game is set to debut on the Nintendo eShop on Thursday for single-player, local co-op and online co-op play. The demo will give players access to all 14 weapons and include four missions: basic training, beginner, intermediate and a mission centered around a brand new technique Wyvern riding. This new perk allows players to mount and control the massive monsters for a limited time.

The demo is available through Feb. 1, while the full Monster Hunter Rise game launches March 26. Three amiibo statues — Palamute, Palico, and the game’s signature monster Magnamolo — will also launch on March 26.
